The Mixolydian Mode is the 5th Mode of the Major Scale, making it our V chord. This Scale is also called a Dominant Chord and is one of my favorite because of the kind of chord it builds and all of the possibilities for exploitation of this sound.
most people are familiar with this chord if you've ever listened to a blues song.
In a typical I-IV-V blues progression all chords are Dominant Chords.
It is a favorite of bluesers, rockers, and jazzers alike.
